Who the FiiO Snowsky Disc is for
Listeners with their own library: Load FLAC, WAV, ALAC or DSD files onto a microSD card of up to 2TB; it plays PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD128, and imports M3U playlists (firmware V2.40 or later).
Wired headphones and IEMs: The 4.4mm balanced jack is rated 280mW per channel into 32Ω and the 3.5mm jack 125mW, with FiiO recommending headphones from 8 to 150Ω.
iPhone, iPad and Mac owners: Its 2.4GHz Wi-Fi receives AirPlay, so whatever an Apple device plays, Apple Music included, comes out of your wired headphones.
Wireless headphone users: Bluetooth 5.4 sends LDAC, AAC or SBC, and the player carries both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification.
Home hi-fi and desk setups: It also works as a Bluetooth receiver that accepts LDAC (firmware V2.09 or later) or a USB DAC up to 384kHz/32-bit, and its coaxial output (up to 192kHz/24-bit) can feed an amplifier or desktop DAC.
Skip it if: you want Spotify or other streaming apps on the player itself, or expect it to play CDs: it runs FiiO's own Linux-based system rather than Android, so there are no apps to install, and its disc is a 1.8-inch round screen.
