The SMSL DO400 is a fully balanced desktop DAC and headphone amplifier in one chassis, built on the ES9039MSPRO converter with an XMOS XU316 USB interface. It handles PCM up to 32bit/768kHz, DSD512, and MQA-CD, with Bluetooth 5.1 for when you don't want to plug in.

The appeal of a balanced all-in-one is fewer boxes and fewer cables while still getting a differential signal path from DAC to headphone output. Bring your balanced-terminated headphones and use the DO400 as the whole desk: computer in over USB, phone in over Bluetooth, headphones out, line out to monitors if you want them. It also works as a pure DAC later if you eventually add a separate amp — nothing here becomes redundant.
