The SMSL D6s is a desktop DAC built on the ES9039Q2M with an XMOS XU316 USB interface — a current-generation pairing rather than a chip that has been recycled through three product cycles. It handles full MQA decoding including MQA-CD, adds Bluetooth 5.1, and ships with a remote.

MQA-CD support is the unusual bit and worth knowing about: if you own MQA-encoded discs, feed the D6s from a CD transport and it will unfold them properly. Otherwise this is a clean, well-specified desk DAC for a system that already has amplification — run it into a headphone amp or active monitors, and use Bluetooth for the casual listening a USB cable makes awkward.
