The SMSL PH-1 combines a HiFi MM cartridge phono stage with a headphone amplifier in one box. If you run a moving magnet cartridge and listen on headphones as often as speakers, this collapses two components into one and removes a set of interconnects from the signal path.

It is a natural fit for a desk-side or bedroom vinyl rig: turntable in, headphones out, line out to powered monitors or an integrated amp when you want the room to hear it. Confirm your cartridge is MM (or a high-output MC that a moving magnet input can handle) before ordering — low-output MC cartridges need a step-up or a dedicated MC stage.
