The SMSL RAW-HA1 is the headphone amplifier in the RAW series, and unlike a pure analog amp it brings its own digital front end: an XMOS XU316 interface handling up to 32bit/768kHz and DSD256, plus Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC, aptX and aptX HD, SBC, and AAC.

That makes it viable as a standalone desk solution — plug in a computer over USB, pair a phone, drive headphones — while still stacking neatly with the RAW-MDA1 if you want a separate reference DAC in the chain. Buy it as the amplification half of a RAW stack, or as a single-box answer for a second desk where floor space is short and you still want proper wired and wireless coverage.
